Cash App launched a new signature Cash App Card called Tortoise in February 2025. Featuring a pearlescent black and brown tortoise shell pattern with gold detailing, no two cards are the same. In a world filled with plain, unimaginative debit cards, the Cash App Tortoise Card stands out as a true original.

STRATEGY:

Money isn’t what makes you interesting or important. Fresh ideas and originality are the currency of the next generation. This campaign used timeless style and aesthetics to rewrite the parameters of wealth. Positioning Tortoise Card as the ultimate symbol of a rich, individual sense of style and identity.

RESULTS:

  • We partnered with multi-platinum artist, Shaboozey, to introduce the customizable debit card to the masses. We released a hero film where we follow along Shaboozey’s journey back in time, making a 1 of 1 purchase with his card that symbolizes his rise to fame.

Tortoise Card was a significant above-the-line campaign with integrated investment, major partnerships, and in-app upsells.
